light on yoga

"The Light that yoga sheds on Life is something special. It is transformative. It does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees. It brings knowledge and elevates it to wisdom." -- B.K.S. Iyengar

Essex ArtWalk

This year, I'm going to do one thing that (kind of) scares me: displaying my photography at an art show!

The Essex ArtWalk event is part of the Fine Arts Sampler Weekend in Cincinnati. Please visit the Essex Studios on February 8 and 9 (Friday and Saturday), from 6-11 pm, and see my Photos of Everyday Miracles.

I look forward to seeing you there!

missing in action

It's been about three weeks since I last updated this blog! When I started, I had all these great ambitions of logging in every few days, even writing about a "yoga pose for the week" or "weekly relaxation and meditation tip" etc etc.... plus a vegetarian recipe here and there, some photography, inspiring quotes.

Then I thought, I'd rather be experiencing life than just writing about it! Still, thank you for your patience!

And, as the insurance ad claims, "life happens". It is here to be savored and cherished! Life is for exploring, creating, celebrating, loving.

The past few weeks have been a bit of a challenge, as I try to balance everything -- working full-time, going to school part-time, teaching yoga... and my big thing now is getting ready for my first photography show! I'm excited, but also nervous... now I will have to "put myself out there". But that's what life is about -- taking risks, taking a leap of faith.

My next entry will be the advertisement/invite for the art show... stay tuned!

have no fear

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. - Eleanor Roosevelt

Happy New Year!

The people who lead lives of love are those who approach the mess of life with curiosity and a hunger to understand, learn, and embrace." - Daniel Jones

Here's to celebrating life and new beginnings...Let's meet every new experience with openness, wonder, and enthusiasm!

(That's my nephew Martin above, at age 5, curious about something in the pile of rocks. Children are experts at curiosity and wonder.)
