I agree with that completely.

If something is truely a "yes" there will be no hesitation, it's an absolute.

I wish things were that simple for me, but I think there are layers of complexity involved in a decision, especially a big decision. If we're talking about buying a piece of clothing, then yes, I use this concept. If I'm struggling with something major, like deciding if I want to change careers, or move to a new house or city, then I am always weighing the pros and cons -- and I can't think of a situation where there aren't any cons. But, just because there are reasons NOT to do something doesn't mean I shouldn't or that it isn't ultimately the better choice for me. This is an interesting concept to explore!

Interesting points of view! Thanks to both of you for sharing. More to ponder on...

Jen - "I can't think of a situation where there aren't any cons." That is interesting...and comforting, actually. It reminds me of what you wrote before about giving up something for something greater. And although giving up that "something" may seem like a "con" in itself, it may not be when considering the bigger picture.

i don't agree with it completely. i think it depends on where we are at that moment. something that was a no can be a yes at a different time.
